Frances Titus edited several
different editions of the Narrative of Sojourner Truth, in 1875, 1878, 1884 (which included a Memorial Chapter). The Narrative was originally
written in 1850 by Truth's friend and abolitionist Olive Gilbert. Titus made significant changes to
the original edition, as well as adding the "Book of Life" section. In this section,
Titus included autographs, letters and articles about Truth’s travels and speeches, drawn from Sojourner's
personal scrapbook.
