This tobacco pouch is one of Truth's few surviving personal possessions.
In 1917 it was donated to the State Museum in Lansing (Michigan) by Mrs. L. B. Rowel,
with the note: "This is Sojourner Truth's tobacco pipe bag, given to me
by Mrs. Boyd, her daughter, as a keepsake." (from the collection of the Michigan Historical Museum)
